2015 Earthquake
The devastating Gorkha earthquake of April 25, 2015, was a turning point for the Bodhisattva Foundation. As Nepal faced one of its worst natural disasters—claiming nearly 9,000 lives and leaving hundreds of thousands homeless—our founders and volunteers came forward with a deep sense of duty and compassion.
Bodhisattva Foundation became actively involved in:
Providing emergency relief in affected rural and urban areas, including food, clean water, clothing, and shelter materials.
Distributing school supplies and learning materials to ensure children could return to school even in temporary classrooms.
Partnering with local communities to rebuild hope through cultural restoration and mental health support, especially among young people.
The earthquake not only tested the resilience of the people but also shaped the Foundation’s mission going forward—to protect not just lives but also the soul of our heritage through art, education, and compassion.
This experience solidified our commitment to long-term, grassroots action. It remains a driving force behind every initiative we take to this day.
